Ride along the Coast.

I was supposed to be at Satya's at 4.30 and met the rest in Yeshwanthpur at 5.00 am and leave  the city and 8.30 was planned to be stop for breakfast in Tumkur but its like we did not know how good are we at keeping up the time. I reached at Saty's at 5.00 am. Adi called me at 4 am wondering if I had a marker to write his number plate. Satya had an appointment to please god early morning and it looked like the god took a little more time than usual. So Satya remained busy till 5.30 by the time we left Satya's it was already 6.30 other other team (Adi on his newly bought Harley, Mukesh on Thunderbird, Mayur on Thunderbird) reach Yeshwanthpur exactly the same time we reached Yeshwanthpur. So I was sure that at least we all synced well.
I went on the lead and realised that we had taken wrong route and we kept looking the right road until we found it but by then we had again lost lots of time. We hit the right road (Hassan Main road) by 8.30am and then breakfast at 9.30am. I was little upset with our progress and I was almost sure that we'd be doing night ride if we did not cover distance. Nobody wants to do night ride besides I wanted good rest at night but then we had lost lots of time. After breakfast I started timing along with Satya who was navigating the trip. He is fantastic at timing me and still controlling my hands on throttle. Adi was finding it difficult to carry his saddle bad we bought from Enfield showroom. The bag did not even last few hundred Kilometers. All rivet started popping out but thanks to Gillu., we gave him the responsibility of single sided saddle bag. Gillu was our tour photographer and rode along with Mayur. With few pit stop we made a good progress by noon and by evening we reached Mangalore but then our destination was Udupi and then find place to stay in Udupi. Adi had conference call from The US (Some people never stop working. Adi is excellent example). I met Adi about a year ago on one of my vacation at about 100 ft above ground on a tree top resort. Adi is an American but truly an Indian at heart and extremely passionate person. On the way to Udupi Mayur slipped from his bike that bent his handle bar but then they say ' you are never alone in India'. We had a saviour who helped us on that lonely road. As night fell dark and we were still till away from Udupi my bike's head light stopped working so I took help of Adi's Tail lamp and rode all the way to Udupi. After few evaluations we found the place we wanted to stay at all we need was some food and good bed to crash out. Adi worked from hotel room until midnight and next morning we said 'hello' to Lord Krishna and started to our next destination 'Om Beach'. Road was beautiful and very scenic for most of the time, none of was wanted to slow down. as we approached Om beach we had a anonomous voting to saty at OM beach. Namestey resort was jus the perfect place we all were longing for. next morning we started and our destination was Sagar. this was deviation from original plan but none of us were really in a mood to stick to plan. distance was long and we had histtory of loosing way. Mukki was impatient and he marched straight into Goa though we all did the same mistake but Mukki went way ahead without realising the excise gate. We all got together and headed for Anushi  national park it was 200 km ride which is 4 hrs ride in tiger reserve, bad road, jungle etc. Adi had fall. Guess what Monkey was the reason. Harley was damaged. Break lever was knocked out and we were right insight the jungle. Adi was hurt. We swtched the bikes got the Harley weilded in Yellapura. We had our lunch there and we knew we had lost lots of time in this course of events which was hounting us since the morning like loosing way, sometime ride back for refuling etc but we managed to get to Jogfalls and decided to stay there but I guess the bad day wasn't really over. we wouldn't get good place to stay. Everyone in the group dispersed looking to place and finally we compromised on a youth hostel. Adi was hurt we all were very tired riding close to 500 km on a very bad road. We all died on bed and next morning was our day. I could say that looking at majestic Jogfall and awsome breakfast. Our next destination was Bangalore. I wanted to reach early because my headlight wasn't really working fine. Being hasty is my characterstic. Satya is great navigator and he keeps tab on my hasty behaviour but then I didn want to go slow. I reached Tumkur by 4 pm unfortunately rest of the team memebers overlooked the bypass and got stuck in Tumkur. I was lucky to navigate me to bypass road , I reached Bangalore at 7.30 evening.
My bums were hurting, I was super tired but it all seemed like a dream to ride Konkan road line. With this ride I and Satya have completed the entire western coastal line untill Goa on Bike. Combination of amazing road, great bikes and super rider is unforgettable. Prateek, Satya has covered our trip in pictures and videos. special thanks to them.
I look forward to complete entire western road lines uptill Rann of Kutch this year.
